Download and Installation
First of all, we need an ASUS product compatible with AURA (obviously), although it is not an essential requirement, then it cannot be used. Now we will have to go to the official page of AURA Sync, where we can download not only the latest version but also wallpapers.
We will only have to download the latest version by selecting it from the drop-down menu and the compressed program will be downloaded directly in a zip. We will open that zip and double click on AsusSetup.exe to begin the installation.
This is just the typical “next, next, next” as there are no options to mark or unmark.
Once finished, it will notify us about whether we want to restart the system so that the driver loads from its beginning. If possible, it would be advisable to restart the PC to run the program normally.
AURA Software Configuration
Now we just have to open the program, where we will have a simple and well-maintained interface
As you can see, at the top we have the peripherals or components that AURA detects, where on your right we can activate or deactivate the entire system with a simple ON / OFF button.
The section just below consists of “synchronize everything” and “configuration”. In the first, you will see on the left all the light effects that ASUS components can achieve, where each effect will have its own configuration.
These effects are: static, breathing, color cycle, rainbow, comet, shooting flash, wave, bright yoyo, starry night, strobe, music and select effect.
The configuration section is much shorter since it only has two sections: HUE and effects in games.
Within HUE we have the Hue Bridge Setting section, where we can automatically search for external and internal lighting systems such as LED strips.
This section synchronizes ASUS peripherals with certain games. For example, if we enter Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 with this setting active, our peripherals and components will enter breathing mode in the same orange tone that characterizes the game.
Smart and Intuitive Design
The Aura user interface is inspired by the popular video editing software designs. The main workspace shows a visualization of the user’s game settings, located on a timeline where the effects overlap and change.
Aura Asus automatically detects compatible devices and displays them within the work area. For custom PC and desktop compilations, Aura components are organized in 2D form for easy editing. With laptop configurations, users can drag and drop to reorganize devices and match their spatial position with their real-world positioning.
From there, the creators can simply click and drag to select the part of their platform that they would like to customize. Set the selected area as a layer, and it will appear in the effect timeline below.
Each layer offers an impressive degree of customisation. Multiple effects can be added to a single layer, and the duration of each can be lengthened or shortened along the timeline. Stacking several layers on top of each other adds depth and complexity, allowing users to place reactive effects on static effects, or any number of combinations in them.
Preloaded effects, such as breathing and wave, can be further modified within the context menus. Wave effects, for example, can be adjusted by direction, gradient, speed, and rotation. Each effect has its own customization settings, which radically increases the possibilities of what can be created.
